Summary

as a marvel fan, i really enjoyed this book! loved to see the adventures that loki went on。。 the people he met。。 the multiple love interests 。。 the betrayal。。 the fighting。。 but this book also made me laugh because of our typical sarcastical loki and i really loved it。

Vendría siendo un 3 y medio, es un buen libro, entretenido, siento que pudo haberse desarrollado un poco mejor, era una historia que daba para más, sin embargo, lo he disfrutado y se me ha pasado volando gracias a su buen ritmo。

Good fun! Loved diving into Loki’s mind as he discovers himself and his place in Asgard。 Engaging story!

I thought the book was interesting and well written, but it felt off from both the mythology storyline (but I was expecting this because it is not based on the myths) and the MCU storyline。 It's a good read if you like Loki's character in the Marvel movies, but I recommend disconnecting this story from that of the Thor and Avengers Movies if you want to more thoroughly enjoy it。 I thought the book was interesting and well written, but it felt off from both the mythology storyline (but I was expecting this because it is not based on the myths) and the MCU storyline。 It's a good read if you like Loki's character in the Marvel movies, but I recommend disconnecting this story from that of the Thor and Avengers Movies if you want to more thoroughly enjoy it。 。。。more

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved this book! I am not a huge fan of marvel in general, so I don’t feel as though I can comment on the characters or their perceptions much- as I don’t know anything about them。 But as a whole, I couldn’t put it down。

The book started out great and was building up to some big revelation or plot twist。 But about halfway through it loses momentum and therefore excitement。 Certain events occur so easily, it feels a bit too easy。 Because of that the ending isn't that suprising and a bit dissapointed。 The book is easy to read, but I would not read this book again。 The book started out great and was building up to some big revelation or plot twist。 But about halfway through it loses momentum and therefore excitement。 Certain events occur so easily, it feels a bit too easy。 Because of that the ending isn't that suprising and a bit dissapointed。 The book is easy to read, but I would not read this book again。 。。。more

A very enjoyable book。 Lots of compelling characters and tackled some moral issues very well。 I liked how Loki was portrayed and his inner dialogue。 It was also a good precursor for the first Thor movie。 My only issue is that the plot was rather predictable。。。

This book has to be one of my favourites。 I loved the fact that we could see more of the character of Loki。 I hope there is another one because i am left with so many unanswered questions!

This book 🤩 I don’t even know where to begin。。。It tells the story of Loki during the 19th century in London where he is sent to solve some mysterious murders。As someone who’s obsessed by Loki since she’s 10 it was such a pleasure to have a book focused on him。 I really like the author’s style and the plot。 The characters were all very well written。 Good plot + good characters = perfect book。 I couldn’t stop myself from reading it and I didn’t know what to do when I finished it。 At some point, I This book 🤩 I don’t even know where to begin。。。It tells the story of Loki during the 19th century in London where he is sent to solve some mysterious murders。As someone who’s obsessed by Loki since she’s 10 it was such a pleasure to have a book focused on him。 I really like the author’s style and the plot。 The characters were all very well written。 Good plot + good characters = perfect book。 I couldn’t stop myself from reading it and I didn’t know what to do when I finished it。 At some point, I thought it was a little bit disappointing because I thought I guessed what was about to happen but I was sooo wrong! This story follows young Loki on his journey to being the Loki we know from MCU。This was such a quick and fun read, I really enjoyed the world building that Lee describes and the characters throughout the story。Loki was such an entertaining and determined character that kept me turning the page! I haven't watched the Thor movies yet, but I certainly will be now。Thank you so much Scholastic Aus for sending me a copy :) This story follows young Loki on his journey to being the Loki we know from MCU。This was such a quick and fun read, I really enjoyed the world building that Lee describes and the characters throughout the story。Loki was such an entertaining and determined character that kept me turning the page! This is a high 3 stars。 It was good, but wasn't great。 I enjoyed reading it, but also went through it a little slow。 I still loved Loki and time spent with him, and I thought this novel stuck to who he was well enough。 The plot slogged a little bit until near the end climaxes/twists, which were quite satisfying, actually。 I liked it, but didn't love it。 I DID however, love that Loki gets to keep his gender fluidity and sexual orientation fluidity as well, especially this being a book marketed to This is a high 3 stars。 It was good, but wasn't great。 I enjoyed reading it, but also went through it a little slow。 I still loved Loki and time spent with him, and I thought this novel stuck to who he was well enough。 The plot slogged a little bit until near the end climaxes/twists, which were quite satisfying, actually。 I liked it, but didn't love it。 I DID however, love that Loki gets to keep his gender fluidity and sexual orientation fluidity as well, especially this being a book marketed towards teens under Disney。 I wish we'd have more chance to experience this in a live-action type format, or have the events referenced in the MCU or comics。 I'd really love a reunion or return to Theo。 Or to find out what happened to him。 I hope he had a redeeming and fulfilling life。 (Maybe I'm missing something-maybe Theo IS in the wider MCU universe and I just don't know it。) 。。。more

I wasn’t expecting to fall as in love with Loki and nineteenth-century London as I did, but oh man, this was a page turner! This is probably one of the best characterizations of Loki that I’ve read, and I’ve read a lot。 His interactions with other characters, especially Thor, the insights we get into his thought process and the stunts he pulls of all felt so incredibly Loki。 Lee somehow manages to perfectly capture all the quirkiness, angst and flamboyance or ‘panache’ ( there’s a reference ;))of Loki from agent of Asgard, or even journey into the mystery, and the more angsty confused yet still incredibly sarcastic t This is probably one of the best characterizations of Loki that I’ve read, and I’ve read a lot。 His interactions with other characters, especially Thor, the insights we get into his thought process and the stunts he pulls of all felt so incredibly Loki。 Lee somehow manages to perfectly capture all the quirkiness, angst and flamboyance or ‘panache’ ( there’s a reference ;))of Loki from agent of Asgard, or even journey into the mystery, and the more angsty confused yet still incredibly sarcastic theatre kid we see on screen in the MCU。 The dialogue, the characters, the setting it was all so well written and clearly orchestrated to fit the marvel cinematic canon。 If you’re a fan of the character this is definitely a book to read。 Honestly even if you’ve never watched a single marvel movie and are looking for something entertaining and suspenseful I’d still highly recommend it。 Lee is so clever and undeniably funny in her writing that it makes a lot of sense on why she was approached by Marvel to write Loki of all people。 I’m excited to see what else is in store and can’t wait for the next two books about some of Marvels other anti-hero’s。 Amazing read 5/5。 。。。more

This is a sheer joy to read! The author captures the character of Loki in all his charm, frustrations, and complexities like no one has before。 If there are issues with continuity, I frankly don't care。 Though there are a couple of much appreciated allusions to he greater Marvel Universe, this book stands on its own as a simply a wonderful novel。 This is a sheer joy to read! My downfall here may be have that I was so heavily invested in the Marvel comics that this really didn’t hit home for me。If I’m totally honest I was rather bored。 I felt like so much could have been done with all of the characters in this book - I was just wholly underwhelmed。

Like other reviewers have said, it's great to see genderfluid pansexual Loki! I didn't know too much about the character going into this book (I'm familiar with Loki but haven't read much of the Thor or Loki comics, or really anything related to Asgard except Angela)。 This was a great way to learn about the character and also see him developing into the Loki we see more in mainstream pop culture。 Like other reviewers have said, it's great to see genderfluid pansexual Loki!
